1. My latest book is the first in a short story series focused on music. See the FICTION BOOKS page for "Soundtrack For A Murder In Maine: A Mystery Short Story Featuring Cary Street, The Rock Star Private Investigator."
2. I'm active on youtube with a channel focused on Hinduism and current events called "Hinduism & Current Events w/ Premanand Das Bhagat". Every other day I read the scriptures, and have a live show every other week on various topics related to Hinduism, current events and related topics. Link below to youtube. (The channel is duplicated on Bitchute, with the live show available on Rumble, Spotify, Amazon, Audible, Apple and Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Castbox, Chromecast, Listen Notes.)
3. I started a youtube channel in December 2023 looking at rockabilly, psychobilly and classic rock, and upright bass playing called "Rockabilly & Double Bass With Aaron Joy". Some live chatter and some gear talk every few weeks, and interviews from my 2011-2012 music interview podcast the "Roman Midnight Music Show". Link below to youtube. (The channel is duplicated on Rumble.)
I've been writing since I was in the 3rd grade (I was born in 1977, 3 months old when Elvis died who I like to say I'm named after cause I'm such a fan). My writing was tremendously influenced by the discovery of Shakespeare, Jim Morrison of the Doors, and Jack Kerouac. My favorite authors include G.K. Chesterton, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Herman Hesse, and Jerzy Kosinski. I love classic literature and stuff with crazy language.
My first book I self-published in 1999 as a college sophomore with a meager 200 print run, a huge credit card debt and no profit. I did get local fame and a job writing for a daily Gannett newspaper. This was back in the day when it was a time-consuming slog on a word processor, with each of the hundreds of pages individually scanned. Not to mention there was no amazon or kindle for easy distribution. It was a local history book that I knew was too much of a niche for a major publisher to be interested in. My next book came in 2007, and I have gone steady ever since.
I've learned a lot and seen the technology change for the better. I now have over 75 books and make decent money, and can hesitate about what projects I take. Its also a joy to help others not make the mistakes I did.
I'm one of those 'you can do it' success stories where I turned a hobby into a second income. Like every such story, there were many years I nearly gave up on ever breaking even, or increasing sales, or in finding my niche. That last one was a real struggle. I've had a literal existential crisis where everything was failing and life seemed hopeless, and times where the creativity was flowing faster than I had time for. Struggling authors know what I mean.
Writing is my longest lasting and most successful relationship. If you're a writer you might understand what I mean. I write because I have to. I do it as something inside me must express itself. At the same time, I see myself as both an artist and a businessman,
kinda like Gene Simmons but with better hair.
I'm always up for helping others if time allows and if the project is right, including public speaker, youtuber, blogger, writer, editor, publisher, instructor, reviewer, etc..
Feel free to reach out,
Also, I do not have autographed copies of books. Sorry.
P.S. ...
I'm part of the great tradition of Vaishnava Sanatana Dharma, or Hinduism, of the Ramanuja lineage. My gurus include Sri Dharma Acharya and David Frawley. My spiritual name was bestowed by Sri Dr. Chaturbhai Babaria of Swaminaryan Gurukul USA.
